The Mediterranean Diet - Perfect Body Proportion?
Most of us are aware that people who live
around the Mediterranean Sea are very
healthy due to their ancient diets rich
with olive oil, fish and vegetables. This
was exactly the lifestyle that the
Mediterranean diet advices although our
dreams of turning into Greek Gods may not
come true.
On this low-glycemic index diet, the
average consumer eats a variety of beans,
nuts, peas, lentils and pasta. Many people
found that this diet is superior to most
of the others in controlling blood sugar
as well as the risk factors for heart
disease.
The advantage of this diet is that the
low-glycemic foods used in the diet is

decreased on this low-glycemic diets when
compared to other diets. In combination
with the reduction of blood sugar, the
participants of the study also found that
their HDL (or healthy cholesterol)
increased as a result of the low-glycemic
diet.
